NCS: “Good evening and welcome to the Kane County Emergency Net.
This is {NCS First Name, call sign}, using the Kane County OEM call sign
KC9OEM for tonight’s net. Before we begin, any station with Emergency or
Priority traffic for this net, please call KC9OEM net control now."
{NCS pauses}
NCS: “This net is a joint effort of the Kane County Office of Emergency Management
and the Kane County Amateur Radio Emergency Service. The purpose of this net is to
provide Amateur Radio operators with the means to check their ability to communicate
with this net, and to practice proper net procedures. This is a directed net,
please make no transmission until directed to do so by Net Control.”
{NCS pauses}
NCS: “This net is activated every Wednesday at 1830 hours (6:30 pm) local time,
unless pre-empted by severe weather, emergency or public service operations.
This repeater uses a minus offset with a PL tone of 103.5 Hertz, and is open for
all licensed amateurs.”
{NCS pauses}
NCS: “In case the Net Control station should become disabled, an Alternate Net Control
Station should be prepared to take over for the duration of the net.
Any station willing to serve as an Alternate Net Control Station, please call
Net Control now.”
(if YES...)
NCS: “Net Control acknowledges {ANCS call sign} as Alternate Net Control.”
(if NO...NCS acknowledges with “Nothing heard” and continues)
NCS: “This is KC9OEM. We will now begin check-ins. To check in, first please state
your call sign phonetically. Allow net control to acknowledge you, and then
respond with your first name, location, if you are a trained spotter and
if you have any traffic for the net. Please check in one at a time.
All stations call KC9OEM net control now.”
{NCS pauses for check-ins}
NCS: “One more call for check-ins.”
{NCS pauses}
{If stations with traffic have checked in…}
NCS: “Stations with traffic for the net will now be called in
check-in order.”
{NCS will pass any general traffic for ARES/OEM at this time.>}
{During storm season, or when severe winter weather is forecast, read the
latest Hazardous Weather Outlook.}
NCS: “Are there any final check-ins for the Kane County Emergency
Net?”
{NCS pauses}
NCS: “I would like to thank everyone who participated in the net
tonight. This net will be activated again on Wednesday, (Month)(Day) at 1830 hours
(6:30pm) local time. The Kane County Emergency Net is now closed, and the repeater is returned to normal amateur use. This is KC9OEM, for the Kane County OEM and Kane County ARES, clear at <24-hour time>/<12-hour time>. 73 & good night.”
